The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (SACREEE) and the East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (EACREEE) is implementing a project entitled Energy Efficient Lighting and Appliances in Southern and Eastern Africa (EELA). The EELA project is funded by Government of Sweden and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

First call for applications - SADC Renewable Energy Entrepreneurship (Technical) Support Facility

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) established the Renewable Energy Entrepreneurship (Technical) Support Facility in SADC Region in April 2017.

Employment opportunities

CLASP is seeking for qualified consultants to support their work helping governments in Sub-Saharan Africa in their efforts to develop and implement standards across a range of on- and off-grid appliances and equipment. Consultants will provide technical assistance and strategic guidance to decision makers on how to effectively prioritize resources and activities to drive energy savings and promote energy access.

Vacancy Announcement

The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, with the financial and technical support of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) seeks to identify a Project Coordinator for the SADC Renewable Energy Entrepreneurship Support Facility based at the SACREEE office in Windhoek, Namibia. The Project Coordinator will support the day to day work of Facility in the SADC region. She/He will work under the direct supervision of the Renewable Energy Expert.
