Micro Grid Academy Young Talent of the Year 2021 Award

The initiative, developed in the framework of its capacity-building programme Micro-Grid Academy (MGA), aims at supporting brilliant young talents from African countries addressing major environmental and social challenges that hamper the development of their communities. The three best Young Talents will be awarded with €5.000 each and invited to significant events, in order to present their ideas to a vast audience of energy experts from RES4Africa's network.

Digital Energy Facility: 2021 Call for Projects

The first annual Call for Projects opened on 6 April 2021, and is part of a four-year Digital Energy Challenge. Three other calls will follow. By targeting key energy players in the digital and energy ecosystem, both start-ups and public power utilities in partnership with technology service providers, the Challenge will directly support the development of innovative solutions for better energy access and utility performance improvement.

Gender Just Climate Solutions Award 2021

Are you leading a gender-responsive climate initiative that fosters women’s empowerment and a healthy environment? Then apply to Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards. The winners will receive a small grant, travel for one representative to attend the Awards Ceremony held at @UNFCCC #COP26 in Glasgow this November 2021; and access to a mentoring programme to up-scale and replicate their project by the UN Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN).

The Energy Transition Facility (ETF) projects focus on collaboration at the policy level. National governments can request advice and knowledge via ETF. Our advisors will decide which tools within or outside the Netherlands Enterprise Agency best supports the proposal, plan or idea. The core focus is to improve and support the policy and stability of the energy transition in the MENA region.

Small and Growing Business Fund

GroFin in partnership with Shell Foundation, KfW, Dutch Good Growth Fund, Norfund is receiving applications for its Small and Growing Business (SGB) Fund, with a size of US $100+ Million. This is the first of its kind, uncapped and unlimited-life fund to support growth of small and growing businesses in Africa. The fund will focus on SGBs that are grossly underserved by other funds or financiers. It delivers a unique integrated solution for patient risk capital and end-to-end business support to start-up and growing businesses at the SME base.

Green People’s Energy for Africa's Small Projects Fund

The Green People’s Energy for Africa's Small Projects Fund offers financial support to initiatives led by non-profit organisations in the field of decentralised renewable energy. The Fund can enable small projects and contribute to realising project ideas located in sub-Saharan Africa that contribute to sustainable development. The Fund is looking for concrete solutions based on an identified local need. The expected impact and likely success of the proposed solutions to overcome social, ecological and/or economic challenges in the energy sector will be analysed by an assessment committee.

BRILHO is a five-year Programme, 2019 - 2024, with nationwide coverage that will catalyse Mozambique’s energy market of Improved Cooking Solutions, Solar Home Systems and Green Minigrids to provide clean and affordable energy solutions to the off-grid population and businesses.

Expression of Interest: EELA Technical Assistance and Co-financing Facility

The Energy Efficient Lighting and Appliances in East and Southern Africa (EELA) Project invites energy users and energy service providers to submit Expressions of Interest (EoI) for technical and financial support to develop and implement energy efficient lighting and appliances projects in the East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) Member State(s). The first phase of the EoI shall be valid until 31 December 2021.
