The SADC Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) provides technical expertise to the International Capacity Development Programme in Renewable Energy. The Programme aims at creating increased knowledge and capacity of selected organizations and participants about how different energy systems solutions based on renewable energy can be developed at different levels in society, from local communities without network connections to larger plants at the national macro level. The beneficiary SADC Member States are Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Programme is funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the training are conducted by LIFE Academy, a global network academy.

The programs are expected to contribute to the following results:

  1. Increased level of competence at the individual level and strengthened capacity of organizations to drive change processes for effective poverty reduction, a stronger rights perspective and long-term sustainable development.

  2. Increased contact areas and established relationships between individuals, organizations and institutions in other countries and Sweden.
