Eugenia Masvikeni is the Renewable Energy Expert for SACREEE under the SAPP Program for Accelerating Regional Energy/Transformational Projects (SAPP-AREP).
Ms. Masvikeni has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining SACREEE, she worked as an Independent Energy and Climate Finance Specialist and assumed consulting assignments in sub-Sahara Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia for the World Bank, the African Development Bank as well as United Nations Agencies. She previously worked for the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) as a Principal Economist and she was involved in the institutional establishment of the Green Fund (Climate Finance Unit). Ms. Masvikeni also worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB Power) as an Energy Economist, as well as for the Zimbabwe Power Company as an Investment Officer. She worked with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) on bid preparation and submission under the South Africa Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) Window 2. Her skills include energy sector planning, project preparation, due diligence, feasibility studies, and climate finance. She holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Development from Heriot Watt University (UK), a Masters’ Development Finance from Stellenbosch (South Africa), and a BSc Honours Economics from the University of Zimbabwe.
